Jürgen Klopp opens door to coaching Germany: 'I am prepared'

Jürgen Klopp has opened the door to coaching the German national team, stating he is "prepared" for the role following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation. However, the acclaimed coach stressed that "intense" conversations are necessary, as German football requires fundamental changes to regain its former glory. Klopp, who recently recovered his energy after leaving Liverpool, feels ready for a new challenge. While acknowledging that the timing of the German Football Association's (DFB) approach is not "perfect" due to his current contract with Red Bull, he believes it's a better opportunity than previous offers. He noted that his employer, Oliver Minzlaff, must approve his departure and that negotiations need to conclude favorably for Red Bull. Klopp suggested his boss might be amenable, given his strong interest in German football. The coach insisted that discussions must deeply address the future of German football, as the current problems extend beyond Nagelsmann's tenure. He pointed out that Germany's early exit from the World Cup clearly indicates that the responsibility doesn't solely lie with the coach. Klopp described German football as being at a "turning point," requiring profound transformations regardless of who takes the helm. He believes that his own potential appointment or that of any other coach will not alter the necessity of these changes.
