Justice Minister: Investigation into Yazıcıoğlu Crash Will Go to Any Length

Turkey's Justice Minister Bekir Bozdağ has vowed that the investigation into the 2009 helicopter crash that killed Grand Unity Party leader Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and his entourage will be pursued relentlessly. "Wherever the investigation leads, our state will go to the end within the bounds of law," Bozdağ stated.

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is conducting a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. Minister Bozdağ revealed that 29 suspects have been processed in connection with the case. Of these, 19 have been arrested, and 8 are subject to judicial control measures. Two other suspects are currently imprisoned for unrelated cases.

The investigation is also scrutinizing potential links to the FETÖ organization, particularly its internal structure. Details such as alleged connections to Adil Öksüz, a fugitive suspect from the 2016 coup attempt, ByLock messaging records, and past FETÖ-related investigations involving suspects are being thoroughly evaluated against the evidence.

Bozdağ emphasized that the probe extends beyond the accident itself, aiming to uncover any attempts by FETÖ to obstruct the truth and infiltrate state institutions. Judicial authorities are committed to uncovering the material facts within legal boundaries and based on evidence. "No suspicion will be left unanswered, and no organized structure will be allowed to impede our nation's expectation of justice," Bozdağ affirmed.
