Juventus and Milan draw 1-1

Milan looked set to take the spotlight in Turin after substitute Cissé put the visitors ahead, but Juventus found an equalizer in the most dramatic moment of the night. Defender Gatti, pushed into an unusual attacking role, headed in Koopmeiners’s cross deep in stoppage time to make it 1-1.

Both coaches found impact from their substitutions. Milan coach Amorim introduced Loftus-Cheek, Chukwueze and Cissé, while Spalletti responded for Juventus with Koopmeiners and Boga. The moves changed the match, with Chukwueze setting up Cissé for a finish that beat Locatelli, Kalulu and goalkeeper Vicario.

Juventus had threatened earlier through Conceição. Maignan saved his first effort in the opening half, then denied another chance before the break. Ten minutes into the second half, Conceição struck the post with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the area.

Milan’s attack had struggled to create clear danger, while Juventus appeared more lively. The visitors eventually broke through after De Winter challenged Kolo Muani and Chukwueze opened the play for Cissé, who scored his second goal in Turin in two weeks.

Spalletti then brought on Woltemade to play alongside Kolo Muani, and later sent on Gatti as an extra attacking option. The defender rose highest to meet Koopmeiners’s cross and rescued a point. The draw meant neither side maintained a perfect record or kept pace with Inter and Roma.
