JYP Artists and Executives Join Recording Academy, Boosting K-Pop's Grammy Influence

A significant contingent from JYP Entertainment, including prominent artists and key executives, has been inducted as members of the Recording Academy, the organization behind the prestigious Grammy Awards. This marks a notable step in the global recognition of K-pop's influence on the international music scene.

Among the new members are all nine members of the girl group Twice and all eight members of the boy band Stray Kids. They have been selected as voting members, empowering them to participate directly in the nomination and selection process for the Grammy Awards. Additionally, JYP's CEO, Jeong Wook, and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and head of JYP America, Shin Hyun-guk, have been appointed as professional members. This category is typically reserved for music business professionals who support artists and contribute to the music industry's community and programs.

JYP's Chief Creative Officer (CCO), Park Jin-young, who is also a voting member, was previously recognized by Billboard. He, along with CEOs Jeong Wook and Shin Hyun-guk, were named in Billboard's '2026 Power 100' list for their multi-sector influence and later in the '2026 Billboard Global Power Players' for their leadership in the global music market outside the U.S.

The inclusion of these JYP artists and executives underscores the expanding reach and impact of South Korean music. Both Twice and Stray Kids have achieved significant milestones in the global music charts, including multiple number-one entries on the Billboard 200. This latest recognition by the Recording Academy further solidifies their standing and that of JYP Entertainment within the international music industry.
