Kairat bids farewell to Chelsea-bound Dastan Satpayev

Kazakh football club Kairat held a ceremonial send-off for 17-year-old forward Dastan Satpayev, a promising young talent, ahead of his transfer to English club Chelsea. Satpayev, who joined the Kairat Academy at age eight, played his final match for the club on June 17 in Almaty.

During the pre-match ceremony, Kairat supervisory board chairman Kairat Boranbayev presented Satpayev with a framed commemorative jersey. The jersey bore the number 58, representing the number of matches he played for the club. A banner bearing Satpayev's name was also unveiled at the stadium, marking his significant contribution.

Kairat's head coach, Rafael Urazbakhtin, described Satpayev's farewell goal during the match as symbolic. He lauded Satpayev as a role model for young footballers in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the path he has forged for aspiring players. "You are not only a role model for Kairat, but for all of Kazakhstan," Urazbakhtin stated in a club video.

Almaty's Kairat confirmed Satpayev's transfer to Chelsea in February 2025. He is set to move to London this summer after turning 18 on August 12. Satpayev's journey from an eight-year-old academy recruit to a Chelsea-bound player highlights his rapid development and potential.
