Kang Min-ji Achieves Personal Best 5th Place at LPGA Meijer Classic

South Korean golfer Kang Min-ji has achieved her best-ever result on the LPGA Tour, securing a tie for 5th place at the Meijer Classic. The tournament, held at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Michigan, saw Kang finish with a final round of 6-under-par 66, bringing her total to 14-under-par 274.

Kang's performance marks a significant turnaround after a challenging start to her LPGA career. After transitioning from the 2023 Epson Tour, she struggled in her 2024 LPGA debut, missing the cut in 11 out of 19 tournaments. However, she returned to the Epson Tour and has since shown marked improvement.

Her recent success includes a tie for 9th at the Maya Open last month, her first top-10 finish on the LPGA Tour. The Meijer Classic further solidifies her comeback, demonstrating her growing prowess on the international stage.

The Meijer Classic title was claimed by Japan's Miyu Yamashita, who secured her third career LPGA Tour victory after a playoff. Yamashita shot an impressive 8-under-par 64 in the final round to tie with England's Lottie Woad at 17-under-par 271. Other notable Korean performances included Lee So-mi tying for 10th, Jeon Ji-eun and Lim Jin-hee tying for 12th, Hwang Yu-min and Lee Jeong-eun6 tying for 27th, and Yang Hee-young finishing in a tie for 32nd.
