Kanwariyas attack school van in Lucknow; FIR registered against 3 unidentified men

A group of Kanwariyas threw stones at a school van carrying children in Lucknow's Chowk area on Monday morning, leaving the young passengers traumatized. The incident occurred as the van, belonging to Emma Thompson School, was passing through the Kamad area.

Parents of the affected students filed a complaint at the Chowk police station, demanding an FIR and the identification of the culprits through CCTV and viral videos. Satendra Dwivedi, a parent, stated that while the children were not physically injured, they were deeply shaken by the event.

Initial reports suggest that police personnel at the Chowk station were hesitant to register the complaint, with allegations that they threatened to seize the van for allegedly operating without proper documents. Chowk station house officer Nagesh Upadhyay initially described the incident as a "small matter" and stated that efforts were underway to identify those involved.

However, as videos of the attack circulated on social media, authorities took further action. Lucknow's deputy commissioner of police (West), Kamlesh Dixit, confirmed that three unidentified individuals vandalized the school bus. By the time police arrived, the perpetrators had fled. A first information report (FIR) has been registered, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend them.
