Kaohsiung Doctors Win Lawsuit Against Contractor Over Unfinished Luxury Renovation

A prominent doctor couple in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is embroiled in a costly legal battle after their luxury home renovation project allegedly devolved into a "never-ending construction site." The couple claims they hired a contractor, identified by the surname Cao, through a hospital nurse, expecting a reliable and professional service.

However, the renovation, which began in April 2020, reportedly stalled, leaving the house in a state of disrepair despite significant investment. The doctors accused Cao of taking payments without ordering necessary materials or completing the agreed-upon work. The project's prolonged unfinished state caused considerable distress and financial loss to the couple.

After a lengthy dispute, a court ruled in favor of the doctor couple, ordering Cao to pay them tens of millions of New Taiwan dollars in damages. The ruling aims to compensate the couple for the contractor's alleged breach of contract and the failure to deliver the promised high-end living space.
