Kaohsiung Roast Meat Restaurant Vandalized Four Months After Opening; Police Pursue Suspects

A popular Hong Kong-style roast meat restaurant in Kaohsiung's Gushan District, "Yue Xiang Yuan," has become the target of vandalism just four months after its grand opening. The incident, which occurred overnight, saw the restaurant's glass front damaged. Upon discovering the destruction when opening for business on April 4, the owners immediately reported it to the police. Surveillance footage from the entrance revealed unidentified individuals loitering near the premises the previous night, suggesting the vandalism took place late on April 3. The owners stated they are unaware of any disputes or reasons why their establishment would be targeted. The restaurant, which originated in Yilan and has a 27-year history with a branch in Kaohsiung's Qianzhen District, had only recently opened its Gushan branch in April. Police have formed a special task force to investigate. They have reviewed surrounding surveillance footage and collected evidence from the scene, identifying specific suspects and are actively pursuing them to clarify the motive and bring them to justice according to the law. Despite the damage, the restaurant has cleaned and repaired the site, resuming normal operations to minimize disruption to business.
