Karlsruhe’s Ben Farhat calls Freiburg move a “win-win situation”

Louey Ben Farhat described his move to SC Freiburg and continued loan spell at Karlsruher SC as a “win-win situation.” The 20-year-old has signed with the Bundesliga club but remains with Karlsruhe for now.

Ben Farhat played for Karlsruhe in the 2-2 draw at Hannover 96. He said he was pleased that his future had been settled and called the KSC his “second family.”

“I am glad that I am still here and want to give everything for the KSC,” he said. “I want to help the team with my qualities, my creativity and my hunger.” Karlsruhe twice came from behind against the promotion contenders, with 18-year-old Rafael Pinto Pedrosa scoring the equalizer in the 85th minute.

Coach Maximilian Senft said Ben Farhat looked “much freer” once the transfer negotiations ended. The draw extended Karlsruhe’s winless league run to three matches after a 5-2 defeat by promotion favorite VfL Wolfsburg.
