Kast Responds to Matthei’s Criticism: “I Thought Things Were Relatively Resolved”

President José Antonio Kast has declined to enter a public dispute with Evelyn Matthei, saying he wants to respect the people who supported her in Chile’s last presidential race and now work in his government.

Matthei, the former candidate for the Chile Vamos coalition, accused the Republican Party of waging a “disgusting campaign” against her. Asked about the criticism on Cooperativa’s El Diario de Cooperativa, Kast said he would not debate her publicly.
