Katseye dazzles London despite missing two members

Only four of Katseye’s six members reached London, but the group still received a hero’s welcome at the O2 Arena. Manon Bannerman and Sophia Laforteza remain on health-related hiatus, leaving the stage noticeably emptier during the band’s first full UK concert.

The audience began screaming before the show, while Katseye’s music videos played on the arena’s screens. The noise continued for almost three hours as the remaining members drove through bass-heavy pop songs and demanding dance breaks.

Fans already knew the choreography from social media, even though the concert was only the second date of the Wildworld tour. They cheered when Daniela Avanzini completed a complicated lift in “Gabriela,” after her dance partner dropped her during the opening show in Dublin. She recovered without injuries.

Katseye formed in Los Angeles in 2023 through The Debut: Dream Academy, an online reality competition created by South Korean entertainment company Hybe and U.S. label Geffen. Six contestants emerged from 120,000 applicants. Trained in the K-pop system, the group broke out in 2025 with the high-energy single “Gnarly” and followed it with “Gabriela,” a ballad that highlighted Daniela’s Cuban-Venezuelan roots.

The young London crowd shook lightsticks, copied the group’s dance moves and sometimes burst into tears. Some wore bindis inspired by Lara Raj, who incorporates her Asian heritage into her image. The group’s first world tour is scheduled to continue until the end of the year.
