Kazakhstan Tops Central Asia in Global Passport Index 2026

Kazakhstan has achieved the highest ranking among Central Asian countries in the latest Global Passport Index 2026, published by the migration consultancy Global Citizen Solutions. This places Kazakhstan's passport as the most powerful within the region, according to the index.

Globally, Kazakhstan's passport is ranked 109th out of a total of 197 countries surveyed. It sits in the mid-range of the global list, positioned between the Maldives and Belarus. This ranking reflects the level of visa-free or visa-on-arrival access its citizens have to other countries.

Compared to its neighbors, Kazakhstan's passport offers greater travel freedom. Uzbekistan is ranked 123rd, followed by the Kyrgyz Republic at 127th, Tajikistan at 140th, and Turkmenistan at 144th. The index highlights significant disparities in international mobility within the Central Asian region.
