Kebbi reviews security tactics after fresh bandit attacks

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has mandated an immediate review of current security strategies in response to a surge in bandit attacks across the state. The directive came after an emergency security meeting in Birnin Kebbi, where security chiefs and officials discussed recent challenges and ways to enhance response efforts. The governor specifically noted the renewed activities of bandit groups, particularly the Lakurawa faction in Wasagu Chiefdom and parts of Argungu Emirate.

While the security meeting was ongoing, a high-powered delegation led by Deputy Governor Umar Tafida was dispatched to Wasagu Chiefdom. The delegation, including the Speaker of the state House of Assembly and the Emir of Zuru, conveyed the governor's sympathy to the victims and assessed the security situation. They consulted with community leaders to bolster local participation in security efforts.

Governor Idris also highlighted the state government's ongoing support for security agencies through logistics and personnel development. He mentioned training thousands of youths for community security operations and providing substantial resources like operational vehicles and motorcycles.
