Keelung sightseeing bus to resume service September 1 after repairs

Keelung's popular double-decker sightseeing bus is set to roll again on September 1, following a period of repairs after being struck in an accident on July 28. The Keelung City Cultural and Tourism Bureau announced the resumption, assuring the public that passenger safety remains the top priority.

The bus sustained damage to its undercarriage, including the floorboard, beams, pulley, and air ducts. Essential replacement parts are being shipped from Europe. Once repairs are completed and all safety features are confirmed to meet regulations, the bus will recommence its service, offering visitors a comfortable and secure way to experience Keelung's scenic harbor, historical sites, and natural beauty.

Passengers affected by the service suspension before August 31 will receive full refunds through their original booking channels. The bus service has been a hit since its launch, praised for its panoramic glass-enclosed body, comfortable seating, and convenient route connecting key spots like the Keelung Railway Transfer Station, Shawan Historical Cultural Park, Zhengbin Fishing Port, National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, and Badouzi.

With the resumption coinciding with the autumn travel season and upcoming Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, authorities are encouraging both domestic and international tourists to plan a trip to Keelung.
