Keelung String Orchestra concert receives support; Tong Tzu-wei: Supporting children means supporting Keelung's future

Keelung City Councilor Tong Tzu-wei recently attended and supported a fundraising concert for the Keelung String Orchestra, emphasizing the vital role of nurturing young talent for the city's future.

Tong expressed his gratitude to the teachers, parents, and organizers who supported the students' musical journey. He stated his immediate support when the orchestra initiated its fundraising efforts and later invited business friends to contribute when the campaign fell short of its goal. "Supporting children is supporting Keelung's future, letting children shine will make this city more hopeful," Tong remarked.

He was moved by the community's willingness to help the students pursue their dreams, reinforcing his belief that Keelung possesses a strong spirit of generosity and warmth when it comes to children, education, and the city's future. The orchestra comprises students from 13 schools across Keelung and the greater Taipei area, united by their passion for music.

Through rehearsals and performances, the students develop teamwork and self-confidence while working towards their stage dreams. The organizing team even arranged for Tong to participate in a segment of the performance, playing the role of "King of the Forest," which was met with enthusiastic audience interaction.

Tong reiterated his commitment to supporting Keelung's future aspirations by extending a helping hand to more children, enabling them to bravely step onto their own stages. The concert, which took place on the evening of the 13th, successfully showcased the results of the students' hard work and dedication.
