Keiber Lamadrid Features in West Ham's 4-1 Victory Over Southampton

Keiber Lamadrid made his first appearance of the 2026-2027 campaign, starting and playing 59 minutes in West Ham's decisive 4-1 victory over Southampton at St. Mary's Stadium on August 25.

Although Lamadrid did not directly contribute to any of the four goals scored by his team, two of which came after his substitution, his presence marked a significant step in his season. He played on the right wing, positioned ahead of teammate Joel Veltman, who provided the assist for the third goal, and alongside Lewis Orford, who delivered two assists.

Joshua Ajala opened the scoring for West Ham, followed by Taty Castellanos' third goal. Jarrod Bowen, who replaced the Venezuelan player, sealed the dominant win with the fourth goal. Southampton's lone goal came from Leo Scienza.

According to Sofascore, Lamadrid demonstrated strong passing accuracy, completing 19 out of 20 passes. He was particularly effective in the opponent's half, successfully executing 11 of 12 passes attempted there, and completing all eight passes within West Ham's own half. He took one shot during the match, but it did not reach the Southampton goal.

West Ham's upcoming fixture is against Watford in the Championship. Lamadrid has not yet debuted in England's second division. The team, managed by Nuno Espírito Santo, has secured two wins, one draw, and one loss in their first four league matches. Following their victories against Portsmouth (3-1) and Southampton (4-1), West Ham continues their League Cup campaign. Before their next league match on August 29, they are scheduled to face Wolves, another team relegated from the Premier League last season, on August 31.

During West Ham's preseason, Lamadrid participated in four friendly matches, playing 65 minutes against Southend United, 45 minutes against Stevenage, 72 minutes against Rangers, and 71 minutes against Magdeburg.
