Kerekere border post opens as gateway for security and future Solomon Islands trade

Kokoda Constituency has unveiled the Kerekere Customs Border Post, presenting the facility as more than a security checkpoint. It is being positioned as a future gateway for bilateral international trade with the Solomon Islands.

The border post forms part of the constituency’s independence-readiness deliverables. Its launch is described as reshaping regional border management and trade infrastructure while supporting existing security needs and traditional ties.
