Khulna police official withdrawn after threatening officers over leaked info

Khulna Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan has been removed from his position following controversial remarks he made public. The decision came days after a video of Khan making threats went viral on social media platforms.

According to an order signed by Additional Deputy Inspector General (Establishment) Raihan Uddin Khan, Rashidul has been attached to the police headquarters. The withdrawal follows remarks made by the additional commissioner during a recent meeting with locals in the Mohirbari Khalpar area, under Labanchara Police Station in Khulna.

In the widely circulated video, Rashidul was heard stating that officers responsible for leaking the details of whistleblowers or informants would face severe consequences, including being "hung and beaten up." The incident has sparked concern and scrutiny regarding the conduct of senior police officials and the protection of informants.
