Kia launches redesigned Seltos SUV in U.S. with advanced tech and competitive pricing

Kia has officially rolled out its all-new, redesigned Seltos compact SUV in the United States, marking a significant update for the popular model. The vehicle, which debuted at the 2026 New York Auto Show, boasts a completely revamped exterior featuring Kia's signature "Opposites United" design language, highlighted by distinctive Star Map LED lighting. The U.S. market pricing ranges from $24,990 to $32,790, placing it in direct competition with rivals such as the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Built on the Hyundai Group's K3 modular platform, the new Seltos has grown in size, measuring 4,430 x 1,830 x 1,600 mm with a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. This expansion provides a more spacious interior and increased cargo capacity, with the rear trunk offering up to 536 liters. Inside, the Seltos showcases a modern cockpit dominated by a new generation of technology, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. The infotainment system supports AI smart voice assistant and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, enhancing convenience and connectivity.

Under the hood, the U.S. Seltos is available with two gasoline powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated unit producing 149 horsepower and 18.5 kgm of torque, while a more potent 1.6-liter turbocharged engine delivers 193 horsepower and 27 kgm of torque. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations are offered. Kia has also announced plans to introduce a hybrid powertrain option in the fourth quarter of 2026, aiming to improve fuel efficiency and appeal to a broader range of environmentally conscious buyers.

While the redesigned Seltos is now available in the U.S., its introduction to the Taiwanese market is still under consideration by local distributor SWM. The new Seltos, particularly the rugged X-Line variant, aims to capture a significant share of the competitive crossover SUV segment with its blend of style, technology, and performance.
