The situation arose after online posts detailed Sung's elder brother allegedly borrowing money and failing to repay it, while mentioning the baseball player's name. Sung revealed that he has severed contact with his brother.

He explained that his brother has a history of repeatedly causing financial problems since childhood, which have caused immense suffering for their parents.
