Kia reaches tentative agreement on annual wage and collective bargaining

Kia has reached a tentative agreement on its annual wage and collective bargaining for 2026, following a vote of approval from its union members on August 28th.

The breakthrough comes after 12 rounds of negotiations between the company and the union, which commenced with an initial meeting on June 4th. The agreed-upon terms include a 100,000 won increase to the base salary.

In addition to the base pay raise, employees will receive a performance bonus equivalent to 300% of their salary, supplemented by an additional 4 million won. The agreement also incorporates a quality improvement incentive of 100% and a special 4 million won bonus to commemorate the company's achievement of winning the Auto Car Awards.

This resolution marks the culmination of extensive discussions aimed at finalizing the terms of employment and compensation for the upcoming period, reflecting a compromise between the company's objectives and the union's demands.
