Kidnapping victim rescued in Nuevo León; four arrested

A successful operation by the Fiscalía General de Justicia de Nuevo León has led to the rescue of a kidnapping victim in Montemorelos, Nuevo León. The individual had been held captive since May 21.

The raid, conducted in a rural community of Montemorelos, resulted in the apprehension of four alleged kidnappers. During the operation, authorities also engaged in a firefight with assailants, leading to the death of one attacker. Several firearms, identified as exclusively for military use, were confiscated at the scene.

According to official reports, the specialized anti-kidnapping unit, supported by the State Investigations Agency, carried out the intervention after extensive intelligence work. The victim was located and secured in the early hours of Saturday in the community of El Fraile.

The victim had reportedly been held in an area spanning the municipalities of Montemorelos and General Terán. While the identities of the victim and the arrested individuals have not yet been released, the Fiscalía stated that investigations are continuing to fully clarify the case and determine the legal standing of the detainees. Information regarding any ransom demands has not been disclosed.
