Kim Jong Un Marks Korean War Anniversary With Daughter Ju Ae by His Side

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the Korean War armistice alongside his daughter, Ju Ae, in a public display that underscores her growing prominence. State media reported Kim visited war memorials and met with veterans, reiterating Pyongyang's claim of victory in the 1950-1953 conflict, which ended in an armistice. Photographs showed Ju Ae walking beside her father, greeting veterans and positioned centrally during ceremonial events, marking her first appearance at these specific commemorations. South Korea's intelligence services believe Ju Ae is being groomed as Kim's successor, a notion supported by her increasingly visible public appearances. In recent months, she has been seen accompanying her father in various activities, including driving a tank and participating in shooting exercises. The anniversary events also included a visit to the cemetery for Chinese volunteer soldiers, where Kim paid respects at the grave of Mao Anying, son of Mao Zedong, signaling a continued strengthening of relations with China.
