Kim Soo-hyun's Agency Thanks Authorities After YouTuber Kim Se-eui Arrested Over Defamation Claims

The agency representing South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun has issued a statement following the arrest of Kim Se-eui, an operator of the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Institute'. The agency expressed deep gratitude to the investigative and judicial authorities for their diligent work in pursuing the truth based on evidence and facts.

Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, released a notice of investigation results concerning multiple lawsuits and complaints filed against Kim Se-eui. The charges confirmed by the police include violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, stalking offenses, violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Specific Crimes (distribution of content recorded using cameras, etc.), and attempted coercion and threats.

Kim Se-eui was transferred to prosecutors on charges including the violation of laws related to sexual violence and defamation. He is accused of repeatedly spreading claims, including that the late Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun for about six years since she was a minor, through YouTube broadcasts and press conferences from March to May last year. Allegations also include manipulating the deceased's voice using AI to spread false information and claiming Kim Sae-ron faced debt repayment pressure from Kim Soo-hyun's side, which allegedly influenced her death. Kim Soo-hyun had previously refuted these claims in a press conference, stating he did not date Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor and that some provided messenger data was fabricated.
