Kim Yong-bin Cancels Seoul Concert Amid Jamsil Protest Fallout, Offers Full Refunds

Kim Yong-bin’s Seoul concert has been canceled after organizers said protests around the venue made it impossible to guarantee a safe and smooth performance. The shows had been scheduled for June 19 and 20 at Olympic Park’s Ticketlink Live Arena, formerly the Handball Gymnasium.

The organizers of the 2026 concert series “Serenade” posted a notice on the booking page. They said the artist and staff had continued preparing in order to keep their promise to ticket buyers, but ultimately decided cancellation was unavoidable because of the situation around the venue.

The artist and all performance staff have been preparing for the concert to keep their promise to everyone who purchased tickets, but we judged that it would be difficult to guarantee a safe and smooth performance because of the current situation around the venue, so we inevitably decided to cancel.

They apologized to everyone who had set aside time and bought tickets while waiting for the concert. All tickets will receive full refunds. The booking service will cancel reservations in batches and process the money back in sequence.

The cancellation follows a protest blockade at a counting station in Jamsil. The demonstration, organized to condemn a shortage of ballots during the June 3 local elections, has continued for nearly three months since June 5.
