The professional billiards season heats up as the '2026-2027 Eco-friendly Building Materials SY PBA-LPBA Championship,' the third tour event, commences with preliminary rounds on June 26 at the PBA Stadium in KINTEX, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. This event promises intense competition across both men's and women's divisions.

A major storyline entering the championship is the form of recent victors. Kim Young-won of Harim, who claimed his fourth career title at the previous High1 Resort Championship by defeating Ngo Dinh Nai 4-2 with an impressive average of 2.306, will be looking to extend his winning streak. In the women's division, Sruong Pheavy of Woori Financial Capital, the champion of the same High1 Resort Championship, faces strong competition but aims to replicate her success.

The men's tournament boasts a competitive field, including past champions like Daniel Sánchez (Welcome Savings Bank), Lee Seung-jin (Breakers), and Jo Jae-ho (NH Nonghyup Card), alongside other top players such as Kang Dong-goo (Huons) and Kim Jun-tae (Harim).
