King Cobra Found in Dak Lak Hospital Parking Lot, Captured by Security

A surprising and somewhat alarming incident occurred at the Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Dak Lak province when a large king cobra, measuring approximately 3 meters in length, was discovered slithering into the hospital's parking area. The unexpected appearance of the venomous reptile caused considerable panic among patients, staff, and visitors.

Fortunately, the hospital's security team, demonstrating commendable quick thinking and bravery, along with assistance from local residents, managed to apprehend the snake. The captured king cobra was then handed over to the local forest ranger department for appropriate handling and relocation.

Hospital officials confirmed that this was an unprecedented event for the institution. They expressed relief that the situation did not result in any injuries or harm to anyone on the premises. The king cobra, scientifically known as Eryx scutellus, is a species listed in Vietnam's Red Book (2023) and is classified as a critically endangered species requiring strict protection.
