Kingston man charged with murder after fatal shooting in hospital parking lot

A 27-year-old man faces multiple charges, including murder, after a violent incident in the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) parking lot claimed the life of a vendor.

Brad Spencer, also known as “Chad,” has been charged with murder, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, and wounding with intent. He is implicated in the fatal shooting of 29-year-old Damion Henry, known as “Danger,” and the injury of another man.

According to reports from the Denham Town police, the attack occurred around 8:00 am. Henry and another man were seated in a car when a silver vehicle arrived. Spencer and an accomplice reportedly emerged, armed with firearms, and opened fire on the occupants. Henry sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and the other man was shot in the shoulder. The assailants then fled the scene in the silver vehicle.

Both injured individuals were transported to KPH’s Accident and Emergency Department. Henry later died from his injuries, while the other man received treatment and was discharged. Following an investigation that included witness statements, detectives identified Spencer as a suspect. He was taken into custody on July 25 and formally charged on July 29 after a question-and-answer session with his attorney present. A court date is currently being finalized.
