KINTEX to Operate New Jamsil Exhibition Center for 40 Years

KINTEX has secured a 40-year contract to manage the upcoming exhibition and convention center in Seoul's Jamsil district. This significant agreement follows a four-year negotiation process after a consortium led by Hanwha Group, with KINTEX as the specialized operator, was selected as the preferred bidder in December 2021.

The Jamsil MICE complex, to be built on approximately 350,000 square meters, will include an 89,000 square meter exhibition hall and 19,000 square meters of convention facilities. Construction is expected to commence this year, aiming for a 2032 completion. The exhibition space will be about 2.5 times the size of COEX's current facility, featuring five flexible exhibition halls. It will also offer direct subway connectivity and a dedicated waiting area for large cargo trucks to enhance logistics for major events.

The convention facilities will accommodate over 10,000 people and include a grand ballroom, congress halls, and an auditorium. The plan also involves linking with a five-star hotel to attract large international and summit-level events. KINTEX aims to develop Jamsil into a global MICE destination, integrating exhibition, convention, sports, and culture, alongside a 30,000-seat domed stadium and commercial facilities.
