Kiwoom Doubles Seo Geon-chang’s Deal Ceiling to 1.2 Billion Won, Surprising Even the Veteran

Kiwoom Heroes have doubled the maximum value of veteran infielder Seo Geon-chang’s contract, even surprising the player who received the upgrade.

The club said it added a special options clause to the non-free-agent multi-year deal it had already signed with the 37-year-old. The original agreement covered two years and offered a maximum of 600 million won.

That basic contract remains unchanged. But with the additional clause, Seo can now earn as much as 1.2 billion won. Kiwoom did not disclose the specific conditions attached to the options.
