KK Medulin: Where Love for Horses Becomes a Sporting Story

Konjički klub Medulin, the oldest equestrian club on the Istrian peninsula, stands as a testament to a long tradition and a clear vision for developing equestrian sport in Croatia. Under the leadership of Dr. Maja Primate, the club has transformed into a vibrant hub for enthusiasts and a serious competitive center.

Dr. Primate dedicates significant time and energy to the club's growth, competition organization, and member advancement. Her efforts have elevated KK Medulin's role in the Croatian equestrian scene. The club actively hosts dressage and show jumping events, fostering strong relationships with the Istrian and Croatian Equestrian Federations. A particularly fruitful collaboration exists with SKK SEM from Zagreb, which has organized competitions at KK Medulin since 2023, further solidifying Medulin's reputation as a prime venue.

The club's true strength, however, lies in its people: riders, trainers, horse owners, and all who live and breathe for equestrian sport. KK Medulin members consistently compete across Croatia and internationally, with their results reflecting a systematic approach to athlete development. Among them, Mia Matić shines as the club's most successful rider and one of Istria's top young equestrians.

Mia has achieved notable success for years, particularly in show jumping with her mares Ruma and Ajka. She regularly tests her skills at CSI competitions abroad, securing victories and high placings in Slovenia, Italy, and Slovakia. Competing in the junior category at L-level courses, Mia's progress highlights the importance of a quality horse, a solid training system, and family support. Her passion for horses, inherited from her mother Andrea, a former rider and now a respected veterinarian, underscores the familial bonds that shape her sporting journey.
