Klopp begins DFB tenure: Bayern expects coach at Supercup and league opener

Jürgen Klopp has officially stepped into his new role as the head coach of the German national football team (DFB), marking a significant moment for German football. His transition into the position is already generating anticipation, with expectations that he will be actively involved from the outset.

Bayern Munich, the record champions, are counting on Klopp's presence at their initial competitive matches. Sport director Max Eberl stated that the club firmly expects the new DFB coach to attend both the upcoming Supercup in Dortmund and the Bundesliga season opener in Munich. Eberl indicated that these games, scheduled for the coming week and August 28 respectively, represent the true start of Klopp's work.

Before immersing himself fully in national team duties, Klopp is expected to coordinate initial matters at the DFB headquarters in Frankfurt. His first major challenge with the national team will come in late September, following his first month in the job. This period will feature the start of the Nations League campaign, with Germany scheduled to play away matches in the Netherlands and Greece, alongside home games against Greece and Serbia.
