KMT Mayoral Candidate Lee Chuan-fu Attends Yingge Festival Events, Pledges Tourism Boost

Lee Chuan-fu, a candidate for New Taipei mayor representing the Kuomintang (KMT), engaged with constituents at a Dragon Boat Festival dumpling-making event and a women's association inauguration in Yingge District.

Local village chiefs welcomed Lee with auspicious gifts of buns and dumplings, a traditional gesture symbolizing wishes for electoral victory. During the women's association event, Lee shared a lighthearted anecdote about his wife's authority at home, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

Addressing local development, Lee acknowledged concerns raised by Yingge's industry leaders regarding the difficulty of retaining tourists overnight, despite the area's rich cultural attractions like the Museum of Ceramic Arts and the New Taipei City Museum of Art. He pledged to utilize public land for developing affordable lodging options, aiming to encourage longer stays and stimulate the local economy if elected.
