KMT plans vote coordination in Taipei; Huang Kuo-chang says TPP must rely on itself

As Taiwan's local elections approach, the collaboration between the Kuomintang (KMT) and the Taiwan People's Party (TPP) is causing unease among KMT grassroots members. The KMT's Taipei chapter chairman, Dai Hsi-chin, indicated that Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an will primarily participate in joint rallies rather than individual campaign events for TPP candidates.

Chiang Wan-an stated he respects the party's arrangements. "We have always known that the Taiwan People's Party relies on itself," Huang stated, emphasizing the party's independent identity and its young, capable members aiming for local council seats.

Huang expressed confidence in the TPP's "four plus two" lineup in Taipei and confirmed smooth communication with KMT New Taipei mayoral candidate Lee Ssu-hsuan regarding support for young TPP candidates. He also described the blue-white cooperation in Taichung as relatively close, mentioning an upcoming urban governance forum with KMT legislator Chiang Ching-kuo.
