Knie 2026: Spectacular human performances still captivate audiences through a wall of visual effects

For a moment, Circus Knie’s most dangerous act appeared to have gone badly wrong. At the Geneva premiere, nine South American Daredevils motorcycles spun together inside a metal sphere, then ended up in a heap at the bottom.

Concern focused on the rider trapped beneath the pile of performers and machines. The group eventually disentangled itself, stood up and completed the challenge successfully.

That high-risk display is part of Knie’s familiar formula: international performers presented as the most spectacular and decorated artists of the moment. Ukrainian équilibriste Valeriia Davydenko performs her entire routine on one hand, while Wuhan Troupe artists use a Russian swing to launch themselves through the air.

The production also carries a newer visual layer. Since last year, the national circus has used a giant LED screen that constantly projects highly kitschy images. The review argues that the screen could be done without, because the exceptional acrobats already give the 2026 edition its lift.
