Ko Wen-je visits Taichung market, calls for 'grand slam' of councilor wins

Taiwan People's Party (TPP) founder Ko Wen-je is actively campaigning across Taichung, visiting markets and engaging with constituents to support his party's candidates for the upcoming city council elections. Ko made a stop at the Xitun Market in Taichung's Xitun District, where he was warmly received by vendors and residents, particularly younger individuals.

With just over three months until the elections, Ko has dedicated consecutive days to campaigning in Taichung. He visited five districts yesterday and continued his efforts today, focusing on rallying support for Liu Qin-yu, a candidate for Xitun District, and Chiu Yu-shan, a candidate for Beitun District. The TPP has nominated a total of six candidates in Taichung, and Ko has expressed a strong desire for all of them to secure victory.

Ko has previously urged the Taichung party chapter chairman, Chen Ching-lung, to aim for at least three seats to establish a party caucus. Facing the approaching election date, Ko's personal involvement in campaigning underscores the importance the TPP places on the Taichung elections. He stated his commitment to doing his utmost to ensure all nominated candidates are elected.

The TPP founder's visits have boosted the confidence of the candidates and generated enthusiasm among the local population. The party hopes to leverage Ko's popularity and its platform to gain a significant foothold in Taichung's political landscape.
