Konyaspor and Trabzonspor fined heavily after cup final misconduct

Football clubs Konyaspor and Trabzonspor have been fined a combined 1,483,000 Turkish Lira (approximately $46,000 USD) for disciplinary infractions during the Ziraat Turkey Cup final held on May 22. The Turkish Football Federation's (TFF) disciplinary committee announced the penalties, citing violations that occurred during the high-stakes match.

Konyaspor faces the larger penalty, with a fine of 954,000 Lira. Trabzonspor was fined 529,000 Lira. In addition to the club penalties, Konyaspor's head coach, İlhan Palut, received a one-match ban and a fine of 120,000 Lira. These sanctions were imposed due to Palut's unsportsmanlike behavior directed at the match referee and for failing to comply with TFF regulations.

Separate disciplinary actions were also taken following the Trendyol 1. Lig play-off final. Arca Çorum FK was fined 220,000 Lira, and Esenler Erokspor received a fine of 110,000 Lira for disciplinary violations during their match. Esenler Erokspor player Guelor Kanga was handed a four-match suspension and a fine of 90,000 Lira for various offenses.
