Kookmin University Launches 'KMU AX Innovation Alliance' for AI and Software Collaboration

Kookmin University has officially launched the 'KMU AX Innovation Alliance,' establishing a new ecosystem for industry-academia cooperation in the artificial intelligence and software sectors. The launch event, held on July 24 at the university's main building, brought together university officials and key industry players.

Participants included Kookmin University's Vice President for Planning, Head of Information and Communications, and Dean of the College of Software Convergence, alongside representatives from prominent companies such as TmaxTIBERO, NHN Cloud, Lemon, Hancom INNOSTREEM, MAUM.AI, ZYTRON, M2Cloud, Jininfra, and KT. These companies are leaders in AI, cloud, data, and enterprise software.

The alliance aims to foster practical industry-academia collaboration through joint projects, field training, internships, and recruitment linkages. Discussions also explored developing joint curricula tailored to industry needs, with a proposal for a corporate consortium to systematically nurture AI/SW talent. Kookmin University plans to continuously expand its network with advanced AI/SW companies through this alliance, aiming to create tangible outcomes by aligning corporate capabilities and industry demands with the university's educational, research, and industry-academia cooperation frameworks.

This initiative is particularly significant as Kookmin University, celebrating its 80th anniversary, prepares for its next century under the vision 'A University That Sets the Standard for Higher Education.' The alliance directly supports the 'AI+X' field, one of the university's eight specialized areas under its mid- to long-term development strategy, 'KMU VISION 2035: EDGE.' The goal is to strengthen the industrial network and cooperation base necessary for Kookmin University to become a leading AI-focused institution, cultivating future AI/SW talent in collaboration with industry partners.
