Korea Cable Car Industry sponsors fourth Namsan children’s drawing contest, offers free rides

About 3,000 young children will gather at Namsan Seoul Tower Plaza for a drawing contest centered on peace and reunification, with a cable-car ride included for every participant.

Korea Cable Car Industry, led by Han Kwang-su and Lee Ki-seon, said it is sponsoring the fourth Children’s Drawing Contest, held from the 2nd through the 15th. The event is jointly organized by Donghaeng Yeonwoo Association, social welfare organization Ungajabiwon and Son-e Sonjapgo.

The contest targets children aged 3 to 5 enrolled in nurseries and kindergartens across Seoul. Organizers designed it as a cultural and educational program where children can experience nature at Namsan and draw what peace and reunification mean to them.

There is no entry fee. Every child will receive commemorative items such as colored pencils, along with free access to the Namsan cable car. Around 150 awards will be presented, including prizes from the Seoul mayor and the National Unification Advisory Council. The Seoul Association of National and Public Daycare Centers and the Seoul Association of Private Daycare Centers are also supporting the event.

A Korea Cable Car Industry representative said the company considered it meaningful to give children a chance to experience culture and nature at Namsan, adding that it would continue supporting cultural and educational programs in cooperation with the local community.
