Korean Pension Service Prepares for Ulji Civil Defense Drills

The Public Pension Service for Private School Teachers (사학연금) is intensifying its preparations for the upcoming Ulji civil defense drills, set to take place from August 18 to 21. The organization aims to bolster its emergency preparedness and enhance security awareness among its employees and the local community.

In the lead-up to the drills, 사학연금 has engaged in several key activities. On August 7, employees visited the Naju/Gwangju Student Independence Movement Memorial Hall to deepen their understanding of national security. This event served as a platform to reflect on the historical significance of the student independence movement and share the importance of national security. Following this, on August 11, the organization conducted outreach activities at the Bitgaram Dream Jar Center in Naju City, targeting local students and parents. These activities included a security word quiz and an exhibition of emergency supplies, designed to foster interest in the Ulji drills and allow participants to experience the importance of emergency preparedness firsthand.

Central to these preparations was a preparatory meeting held on August 13, chaired by the head of the organization. This meeting comprehensively reviewed the progress of preparations across various sectors and discussed key initiatives. The focus was not merely on a procedural exercise but on ensuring the organization's response system could operate seamlessly in the event of an actual emergency. 사학연금's chairman, Song Ha-joong, expressed hope that the drills would serve as an opportunity to strengthen practical crisis response capabilities for national emergencies and enable swift, systematic action when such situations arise.
