Kosovo Government Vehicle Involved in North Mitrovica Accident

A government vehicle in Kosovo was involved in a traffic accident in North Mitrovica on July 25. The car, a white Suzuki with official Kosovo license plates, reportedly lost control due to excessive speed, hitting protective posts along the road. The incident occurred around 4:40 AM on Knjaza Miloša Street, identified in a police statement as Isa Boljetini Street.

Sources indicate the driver was Nenad Vukmirović, who previously served as the acting minister for communities and returnees. While Kosovo Police declined to confirm the driver's identity or the vehicle's official status, the details provided, initials, birth year, and circumstances, align with information obtained by the media outlet.

Material damage was sustained in the accident, but no injuries were reported, according to police. The case remains under further investigation. Vukmirović, who was appointed acting minister late last year after Nenad Rašić became vice president of the Kosovo Assembly, did not respond to requests for comment.

According to the preliminary investigation, the accident occurred when the driver, moving along Knjaza Miloša Street towards the Technical School, lost control of the vehicle due to speed inappropriate for the road conditions, after which he hit the protective posts next to the sidewalk.
