Kosovo: Suspect in Banjska Attack Detained for One Month

From the record of the interrogation of the accused in the police, dated April 17, 2026, it follows that the accused tried to build an alibi regarding his location on September 23 and 24, 2023. However, his statements are inconsistent and contain significant contradictions. When confronted with material evidence, he decided to remain silent.

Prosecutors have presented a case suggesting Radulović was a key figure within an organized group led by Milan Radoičić, with the explicit aim of forcibly separating the northern part of Kosovo and annexing it to Serbia. The indictment, as detailed by Koha, highlights the use of violence and heavy weaponry in the attack, which tragically resulted in the death of police officer Afrim Bunjaku and endangered the lives of others.

Accused Stefan Radulović, acting together with accused Milan Radoičić, had the capacity of a leader of a structured group... using violence and heavy weaponry, they attempted to detach the northern part of the territory of the Republic of Kosovo, i.e., municipalities with a Serbian majority, and to annex this part of the territory to the Republic of Serbia.

While Radulović's name is not among the 45 individuals initially indicted in the "Banjska" case, additional charges were filed against him earlier this year. The prosecution claims to possess substantial material evidence, including intercepted communications and items seized from the scene, which point to coordinated preparations for the attack. This includes discussions about acquiring explosives, logistical arrangements, and protective gear.
