KT partners with Google for new AI-integrated mobile plans

South Korean telecommunications company KT has announced a new lineup of mobile plans, dubbed 'Choice Google AI Plus,' developed in collaboration with Google. These plans aim to enhance customer convenience by bundling mobile services with generative artificial intelligence (AI) features.

The new plans, numbering four in total, are priced between 90,000 and 130,000 won (approximately $65-$95 USD) per month. They offer unlimited data and provide shared data allowances of up to 100GB, which can be utilized across multiple devices including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches.

A key feature of these plans is the integration of Google's generative AI model, Gemini. Subscribers will have access to Gemini for various AI-powered tasks such as document creation, information retrieval, translation, and learning. Additionally, each plan includes 400GB of cloud storage, which can be shared among up to five family members.

KT is also offering options for customers to expand their cloud storage capacity. For an additional monthly fee of 4,400 won or 21,500 won, users can increase their storage to 2TB or 5TB, respectively. This move by KT signifies a growing trend in the mobile industry to incorporate advanced AI services into standard subscription plans, offering added value beyond basic connectivity.
