Kuwait Arrests 64 Wanted Persons, 47 Residency Violators in Security Sweep

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior intensified its efforts to maintain public safety with a comprehensive security and traffic campaign in the Farwaniya and Khaitan areas on Thursday, August 20, 2026. The campaign saw a significant deployment of security personnel from the General Department of Emergency Police, Traffic and Operations, who patrolled major roads to enhance monitoring and enforcement.

Authorities reported the arrest of 64 individuals wanted in connection with various criminal cases, absconding situations, and outstanding arrest warrants. Additionally, 47 people were apprehended for residency violations, and four individuals were detained for failing to carry valid identification. One wanted vehicle was seized during the operation.

In addition to the arrests, the campaign addressed traffic violations, with 407 recorded. The Ministry of Interior stated that these operations are part of ongoing comprehensive security plans designed to ensure the safety and security of all citizens and residents, and to uphold compliance with Kuwaiti laws and regulations. Security and field campaigns are expected to continue across the country as authorities work to maintain public order and enhance road safety.
