Kuwait Cooperative Societies Begin Kuwaitization of Supply Manager Role

Kuwait's cooperative societies are actively pursuing the Kuwaitization of the branch supply manager position, a move mandated by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Union of Cooperative Societies. This initiative aims to fill 91 supply branches with Kuwaiti citizens within the next 30 days.

The requirements for aspiring supply managers are specific: candidates must hold Kuwaiti citizenship and possess a diploma in fields such as accounting or business administration. A minimum of five years of relevant experience is also mandatory. Applicants must also submit a clearance of their criminal record via the Sahel application, ensuring a clean background.

Financially, the position offers a competitive basic salary ranging from KD 400 to KD 500. This is supplemented by the government's subsidy for national employment in the private sector, along with various allowances and incentives. The cooperative societies will manage the application and selection process, forwarding the shortlisted candidates to the Control Department at the Ministry of Social Affairs for final verification.

In cases where no qualified Kuwaiti candidate emerges, a temporary assignment will be made to a current Kuwaiti employee to fulfill the duties. Notably, the appointment of these supply branch officials is exempt from the standard six percent allocation for employee salaries and expenses, and does not require approval from the Kuwaitization Committee, streamlining the process.
