Kuwait ends Asian Championship on a high note with fifth place

Kuwait concluded its campaign at the 19th Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship in China by clinching fifth place, following a hard-fought 30-29 victory over Chinese Taipei in the playoff match.

The young Kuwaiti squad delivered a series of commendable performances throughout the tournament. Their advancement to the latter stages demonstrated the significant potential within the team, suggesting a bright future for Kuwaiti handball on the international stage. Salem Al-Mahmoud was recognized as Player of the Match for his exceptional contribution in the decisive game.

South Korea emerged as the champions, defeating the United Arab Emirates in the final. Saudi Arabia secured the third-place position, with Bahrain finishing fourth. The Kuwaiti team roster included Hassan Mundhir, Obaid Al-Shammari, Abdulrahman Al-Hashal, Hussein Bouland, Salem Al-Mahmoud, Yousef Madwah, Hussein Mundhni, Mohammed Faisal, Yaqoub Hassan, Abdulatif Salmeen, Hassan Rajab, Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa, Hassan Bouland, Saad Al-Khamis, Faisal Al-Enezi, Hussein Sami, Khairallah Abdullah, and Abdulatif Al-Wuhaib. The team was led by Danish head coach Hani Jensen, supported by assistant coach Saud Mufreh, goalkeeping coach Yassine Idrissi, and team manager Yousef Al-Shaheen.
