Kuwait marks milestone with women in armed service

Kuwait marked a significant milestone as its Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, celebrated the integration of women into the Armed Forces. He declared that the inclusion of female personnel represents a "qualitative addition" to the military institution.

This development follows a recent ceremony where the minister conferred ranks upon a new group of female officers. These women are the first university graduates to be appointed as officers in the Kuwaiti Army, following the issuance of an Amiri decree by His Highness the Amir and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the newly commissioned officers, emphasizing the "significant national responsibility" entrusted to them by the Amiri decree. He called upon them to embody discipline, dedication, and professionalism in their service.

The commissioning ceremony included the formal reading of the Amiri decree and the administration of the legal oath by the graduates. The event was attended by senior military officials, including the Chief of the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, Khaled Al-Shuraiaan, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
