Kuwait reports third attack on power plant, blames Iran

Kuwait announced Sunday that Iran had attacked a power and water plant, igniting a fire and damaging generator units. This marks the third assault on energy infrastructure in Kuwait within three days, following a similar strike on an oil facility on Saturday. Authorities urged residents to conserve power due to the strain on the network from repeated attacks.

Iran had previously claimed responsibility for attacks on U.S. assets in Kuwait, escalating regional tensions. The Kuwaiti ministry of electricity, water, and renewable energy stated on X that the "heinous Iranian aggression" had targeted a power and water distillation plant for the second time in two days, causing a fire.

As a result of the heinous Iranian aggression on Kuwait, a power and water distillation plant, for the second time in two days, has been subjected to an attack that caused a fire in some facilities of the station.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Both Kuwait and Bahrain reported responding to Iranian aerial attacks, with air raid sirens sounding in both Gulf nations. Bahrain also accused Iran of targeting civilian sites. Iran's army claimed to have struck two U.S. bases in Kuwait with drones in retaliation for American attacks on Iranian territory.
