Kuwait’s first deputy prime minister backs AI tools in crime investigations

Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah visited the General Department of Criminal Evidence to examine its operations, performance and latest technical developments.

Criminal Evidence Director General Brigadier General Abdulrahim Al-Awadhi briefed him on plans to expand the department’s capabilities and improve its work. Sheikh Fahad also watched a presentation on how artificial intelligence supports criminal investigations, including identity verification and fraud detection.

During the visit, he toured several departments and laboratories. He reviewed their procedures, specialized services and technical work, according to a Ministry of Interior public relations and security media statement.

At the end of the visit, Sheikh Fahad issued directives to support further development, raise efficiency and improve the accuracy of results. He also called for continued strengthening of Kuwait’s security system. Senior criminal security officials and department directors received him on arrival.
